In the US, do we ever sit down to a meal with family anymore? Around a table? But, in the same breath, do we still want to be doing it like we did when we were 6 when we are 36? There are things to be said for both cultures-- independence, and strong families. It's just so interesting to see...

Rhea, I agree. But I grew up in a very liberal household. It's a differnt world here, and it's taking some getting used to. In talking to some of my Italian friends they think that leaving the house at 18 and never coming back is equally as wacky. But slowly things here are starting to change. Which is good and bad. Gender equality is always a good thing in my book, but at the same time, as things modernize down here, bits and pieces of the beautiful parts of their culture also get lost.Where in the Worldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03713339419045589308noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1013027476163670435.post-42217012568350088702008-03-19T14:58:00.000-05:002008-03-19T14:58:00.000-05:00This was very interesting insight into Mammismo an...This was very interesting insight into Mammismo and southern Italian culture. I'm in shock how much your teacher is doing. The other day P's aunt told us she couldn't go with us, cause she needed to be home with the "kids" came home for lunch. The kids are 34 and 31.Cherryehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12608692973637089618noreply@blogger.com
